That’s because the first and last week of the month are the busiest times for moving and truck rental companies. It’s when the majority of leases begin or end. Loading dates during the last week of the month sell out fast so schedule early to get your move date with the mover you want.
Even the day of the week can make a difference. Monday through Thursday are your best bet because most people schedule a Friday move and use the weekend to travel or if they’ve delivered, to unpack and settle in. Having flexibility on the day your shipments loads can reduce the price. If you let the mover pick the day for loading within the week you plan to move can save 5% to 10% on your move.
